Dr. Hegedus received undergraduate degrees in psychology and pre-professional studies from the University of Notre Dame, then completed medical school at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He completed residency and served as Chief Medical Resident at the Ohio State University before practicing primary care in Memphis, Tennessee as part of the National Health Service Corps. After this service commitment, Dr. Hegedus returned to hospital medicine and relocated to Nashville in 2014. He has served as Lead Hospitalist at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown and has taken an active role in medical staff leadership. As a hospitalist, Dr. Hegedus has been named the Attending Physician of the Year and has received the Laureate Award from the Tennessee Chapter of the American College of Physicians. Professional areas of interest include team building and continuous medical education. When away from the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife and trying to keep up with his two kids.
