Chris Fuchs, M.D.
Infectious Disease - Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown

Originally from Nashville, Dr. Fuchs earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from University of Pennsylvania.  He attended medical school at Vanderbilt University, and did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).  He then completed a fellowship in Infectious Disease at University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) before taking an academic job at University of Tennessee based in Memphis in 2017.  While in Memphis, he was involved in both education and service, serving as Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine residency from 2019-2025 as well as medical director for the free medical student clinic from 2020-2025.  In 2025, an opportunity arose for him to return to Nashville as an educator, and he transferred to UTHSC Nashville to continue service as a part of their teaching faculty.  Dr. Fuchs maintains board certification in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
