UTHSC-Nashville Family Medicine Residency Program
Obstetrics Fellowship

As a part of the continued growth and expansion of our program, the UT-Nashville Family Medicine Residency Program added a one-year fellowship in obstetrics that began in the summer of 2019. The fellow helps oversee the care of prenatal patients at the Ascension Medical Group Saint Thomas (Saint Louise Clinic), where the family medicine residency clinic is located. The fellow will participate in vaginal and cesarean deliveries at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford, where approximately 3000 babies are born each year. The mission of this fellowship is to train family medicine physicians to address gaps in maternity care through training in full spectrum obstetric care, demonstrating competency and safety in performance of normal and operative vaginal deliveries, cesarean delivery, both low risk and complicated antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, standard obstetric ultrasound, and office gynecologic procedures.
